Apparently 51% of millennials don't agree with capitalism, lol - I guarantee none of them even know what capitalism is

I personally think in America the issue is laziness. This is pure anecdotal evidence, but a lot of people I know from around my city bitch about not having a job but don't put a foot forward to get one. They don't call places, go in any places to see if they're hiring, or they only try one place and just give up.

Coming from someone who has a job, lives in America and considers himself a DemSoc, that's not true. In fact, a lot of millennials who have jobs become leftists because they see how little they make compared to their superiors despite the larger amount of work they do.

Conservatives are more susceptible to being "lazy" because they're usually born into wealthy lifestyles and are given plenty of opportunities to earn more money, yet go with the mindset that because their surrounded by wealth they have "accomplished" something.

Surely the rise of Socialism has nothing to do with the fact that it's becoming increasingly obvious that we are living in a rapidly decaying empire.

It really hasn't gotten much better, I'd say it's gotten worse for a ton of people

Where we are now is a state in which 0.1% of the population controls 90% of the nation's wealth. A small handful of individuals are systematically destroying the middle class, and our politics are consumed by profit motive.
