kid a is such a revolutionary album, in terms of music and the band. the album has a cold beauty to it, almost as if 'emotionless' could be an emotion, all while displaying feelings of fear, panic, depression, and a double-sided sadness that comes true with lyrics like "the best you can do is good enough" or even the dread of MPS' "i will see you in the next life" flowing into 'genchildren', almost a feeling of resurrection and ascension
in rainbows is so sonically pleasing that it can't be put into words, and it certainly is the high-point of radiohead's mainstream career. tracks like 'nude' and 'reckoner' instill one with such feelings of bliss that it's hard to even compare the warm, inviting emotion to kid a's cold and numbing influence.
i guess it's all a matter of what you prefer in music, personally kid a is so unforgettable that it is the better album
i'd also take motion picture soundtrack over videotape ANYDAY.
