Author Topic: Dedicated port issues  (Read 1617 times)

I got 28000 open and canyouseeme says it is, but in the console heres what it says:
--------- Starting Dedicated Server ---------
Destroying NET Server
Exporting server prefs...
%
Starting Internet Server
Binding server port to default IP
Unable to initialize UDP - error 5
Port init failed on port 28000 trying next port.
Binding server port to default IP
UDP initialized on port 28001
%
Initializing UPnP...
--------------------

Why does it go to 28001?

My guess is that there is another program using the port 28000 and Blockland can't use it so it uses a different port?
Have you tried using port 28001 and see if it doesn't use another port?

Currently cant port forward another port. My dad changed the router login password. Does blockland steam use port 28000?

when you start the server theres a button you can click to enable

in the menu where you set the server name*

I enabled it, but it doesnt turn on instantly

Btw, when i click "enable" and apply, it disables.

and basically, everytime i reload the server, everythings resets.

update your glass and your glass chat recording addon. theres a bug in the older version with both that when both together, it causes a syntax error in your prefs file when shutting down the server

which causes the prefs to be lost when starting up the game again.
