I think more discord servers are beneficial. Even though its the cool thing to crash threads you dont like/think compete with your own discord it helps shape the community more or less by giving a platform to constantly talk to eachother in an environment shaped by the people who are in it and less so the rules that are in it.
The selection of discords at your fingers is much better than say, a single forum. You can pick and choose your community and leave the ones that you may find toxic. Overall, the hate of discord is really because its cool to do it/the bullstuff "too many options" excuse.
