Author Topic: Getting old Authentication Key back  (Read 1888 times)

My old authentication key is on a broke computer so i cant use any program to get it back. Will badspot not just give me my old authentication key back? My old email is dead so cant do key recovery. If badspot just checks the IP and all see the only accounts (2) he can give it to me easily.

As far as I am aware, you can't recover a key lost like this unfortunately. The same thing happened to me. The e-mail which I bought my old key through was lost and after asking for help I got no where. Your only option here is to buy the game again if you're really keen on playing again.

I bet theres many instances like this, and they all email badspot first and get no reply. Most likely he doesnt respond is because he wants you to get a new key for the $$$

or because there isn't much proof of purchase
in which case you could actually be attempting to steal somebody's key

I didnt mean for the statement to sound like that badspot is that kind of person, its just me theorizing of why he wont respond to any of the emails that people have sent. Sorry :/

Badspot could IP Check

Badspot could IP Check
its laughably simple to change your ip, and since it happens sometimes even if you dont trigger it, people can use your ip.

to be fair, it would be somewhat rare to randomly get the correct IP
but at the same time, there's a good chance your IP has changed since then

maybe some kind of location matching based on IP to make sure you're in the same area, but that doesn't protect against squabbling between neighbors or whatever
it also would take a fair amount of effort to do

if you set an email with your account, its possible that you could go to profile>account related settings and see if you could trace back your email and find the authentication key somewhere
