I tried to watch it previously but the internet has repeated most of the famous jokes from the show ad infinitum already, when the jokes came up in their respective spots it was hard to enjoy watching the show any further because I felt like the overexposure to the show's culture kind of ruined any enjoyment I could've gleaned otherwise.
Uh, what? I'm not sure how this is possible. Like a few of the memier jokes are everywhere (Pickle Rick is garbage but I actually liked the ep) but 99% of the show isn't repeated. My favorite joke on the series might be in the first ep when Rick leaves Morty screaming from all his broken bones and disappears through a portal for 45 seconds while the camera stays on Morty screaming. That was honestly hilarious and I've never seen it mentioned anywhere (and how would you in a relevant manner anyway?)
Like, other than Pickle Rick and Butter Robot and Screaming Sun, I can't even think of any jokes I've seen repeated online a lot. Maybe if you constantly browse /r/RickandMorty or see it on the frontpage but if you do then what are you expecting, people not to talk about the show in the sub it was meant for? Idk, seems like a weird thing.
Yea, the show is really good. Beachbum is handicapped. It's got a lot of bad eps (skip s1e7 for a weird femdom plot s1e11 for a terrible titanic joke and s2e8 for too much 'lol random' humor) but the best eps are really incredible. Close Rick-counters of the Rick Kind is imo the best episode and one of my favorite tv episodes ever. 5 Morty's and a jumper cable made me laugh my ass off dude
best episode by far
these new writers are even better than the older ones
I can't tell if you're joking. It was a good ep, but def not the best
it could mean that they want to convey the fact that rick is still a human. he has emotions and he's vulnerable to them.
yea lol I didn't feel like the therapist 'outsmarted' rick or anything. I thought the joke was just that she perfectly explained why he was so closed and it made him uncomfortable. Then after what would normally be such an emotional/eye-opening moment the characters don't give a stuff and are like 'lets go get something to drink!' It's a 2 part joke
