Author Topic: Screen recorders leaving out 2 columns of pixels of my screen  (Read 2798 times)

OBS and Camtasia are only recording 1364x768 instead of 1366x768, even if i set the dimensions to full screen, they'll still only record 1364, even if i'm just recording my desktop, so what's going on here?

what are you doing that requires these two pixel columns

Recording things

I'm trying to record Garry's Mod, which i run in borderless windowed mode at 1366x768

Even if i set the width to 1366 and change the height to a few pixels less than 768 it still happens, so there's something about the width that's going wrong

record at 1368x768, you will lose 2 columns and result in a 1366x768 resolution

You can't extend the recording dimensions past your actual dimensions

get a really big monitor bigger than 1366x768

You can't extend the recording dimensions past your actual dimensions

buy a monitor with a higher resolution

Does putting it into actual fullscreen fix the problem?

I'm on a laptop, but i doubt that's the cause as i've had other laptops in the past with a 1366x768 resolution and things recorded fine, and by past, i mean in the last few years

You can't use a screen recorder to record a fullscreen game, you'll just get a black screen

get a second moniter and a capture card. then you can record anything with a moniter or a screen.

I'm not looking for alternatives
