I'm aiming to hit America in ~3 years time again for another holiday. The reason I want to start planning now is so:
- I can figure out what legal documentation (like passports) need to be updated
- I can figure out the approximate cost of the vacation and save that much plus some reserve
- I can figure out the best holiday packages and deals which fit in with my plans
- I can figure out what reservations I need to make in advance and plan out backups if those fail
- I can figure out the likelihood of meetups and parties while I'm over there
- I can build enough vacation leave time at work to have a really solid holiday
Last time I was in America, I went with my family and we:
- Went to Disneyland (both the normal and adventure parks, but I didn't get to ride the biggest rollercoaster as it was closed for maintenance)
- Went to Hollywood (did those tours to go see celebrities, saw the star walk, mini-golf etc)
- Went to Las Vegas (Went to a casino, Grand Canyon excursion, saw old Vegas, M&M museum)
- Went to New York City (Statue of Liberty, Twin Towers memorial, Madam Tousauds etc)
This time, I plan going by myself or with only one friend, and the things I would be interested in seeing are:
- LEGOLAND
- Disney World
- A Nascar Race (Jimmie Johnson #48 better loving win)
- A Texan Wal-Mart
- Insomniac Games or Bungie Studio
- The Golden Gate Bridge
- Chicago and Seattle
- Other parts of NYC or LA
- A Broadway Play
- The Smithsonian or other Museums
- A Firing Range
I'm looking for people's suggestions where I should go, what I should do, how long I should stay, what I should eat as well as any other tidbits of info I would need to know for the best adventure possible.
Cheers.
