so, wait, we were all bamboozled?
i think it's him talking about how at this point all half life 2 episode 3 can be summed up to is 'fanfiction' since it's pretty much gone, especially since he ends it off with calling it "a dream I had many years ago."

Depends on how you interpret the tweet.

To me, it sounds like he's poetically saying "I've taken everything down to protect myself, I hope you're all satisfied with something that will no longer exist."

gape newell will be sending the valve ninjas to his house any minute now

now there's going to be a big question of whether this was actually the plot of if or if it was just a generic fanfic

Well, I guess I never really accepted the death of Half-Life until now. But the head writer basically saying flatout that "I expect you know better than I the appropriate course of action, and I leave you to it. Except no further correspondence from me regarding these matters; this is my final epistle.". It really just sealed it for me. It's somber saying goodbye to a hero who never got a proper ending.

welp, seems like people have picked up their pitchforks and are charging at valve

I wholly endorse such a thing, taking the fight to such a developer who has sold out so utterly may get them to come to their senses for a short while. I don't mean anything like actual riots or doxing, but a boycott or a campaign would be nice.

honestly if it were made into an actual game, watching the g-man save not you at the end but instead alyx ingame would've been the twist of the decade

I wouldn't have been surprised. He's been duplicitous from the start, with lines like "Didn't you know your contract was open to the highest bidder?" I would have been pissed more than anything, not at the game mind you, just the G-Man himself.

Terrible and Sad, end of GIANT MASSIVE developer Valve Inc
After they released The BEST games of the 2002-2011 era
