if anyone here wants to be with a real furry dad hit me up

I'll take a stab at this and maybe figure something out here. Here we go.

It's a hobby.

I was gonna post this in the drama thread cus that's where he posted the stuff I'm quoting but Uh No
i wanted to have a wholesome discussion of the statistical bias with furries and disproportionately higher median incomes
the answer: income is not necessarily higher (although it may be, approximately Too Many furries are into tech stuff and certainly way more than the percentage you see in the general population, and tech jobs most often come with higher salaries), but I think it likely has to do with a lack of other things they want/have to spend their money on. most furries are either single or living with a partner who also works, with no real interest in having children. the lack of children has an obviously large effect on disposable income, especially when combined with two salaries. then there's the fact that a lot of furries don't really have any other hobbies because believe me, if you're really going for it, furry stuff can be more than enough for the average person looking to fill their free time. so they're left with furry art, and for some, fursuits, as the only extraneous thing to spend money on, and more disposable income due to a lack of commitments (and that is likely to just be a young-people thing in general, not specifically furries)

maybe
or maybe it's actually that wealth distribution is pretty normal among furries and, as you'd expect, the furries who do have a lot of money become a lot more visible, whereas normies with a lot of money do things you consider normal (like drive a nicer car, or live in a nicer house) and don't pay any mind to because it's not out of the ordinary
