I can think of a few times on this forum that I've been undeniably wrong on something (without any ambiguity), but I either didn't respond or actually admitted I was wrong. The path we are going down, the world will be divided into fascists and socialists. We're starting to see the collapse of legitimacy in liberal institutions. That's how we got Annoying Orange. There's going to more ecological and economic disasters in the future that the center is unable to deal with, and then the choice will be mass redistributions of the ill-gotten gains of the first world, or genocide. We're already seeing people on the right, including libertarians, who are saying that if that's the choice, they'll choose genocide. And they're getting people ready intellectually and emotionally for when the time comes to make that choice why it's OK if that happens, and how they're not really people. That's why we push for our walls, our drones, our bombs and our guns to keep them away and watch them die with clear consciousness. On the other side, the left is making the argument that that shouldn't be our future, and we have the resources to save billions of people regardless of who they are and give them a decent worthwhile existence.

So we can talk all we want about how both fascism and communism are two sides of the same coin and all that now, but at a certain point it's either gonna be egalitarianism or genocide. That's why all this talk about the "free speech" of fascists is complete hubris, because all the benefits of our liberal institutions like our civil rights will go away if they ever had their hands on power.
