as someone who worked as a cook/crew member at a kfc, this is like sorta true but tbh not how it happens. if its busy, the rinsing step doesn't even happen and you just throw the chicken straight into the breading (which is disgusting because its literally just raw chicken juice/blood that the breading sticks too). also the breading gets loving disgusting after like, two bags of chicken and if its busy you dont have time to switch it out. if you've ever seen a used litterbox, its essentially that. raw chicken bits and juices just clumping all the breading together.
also if it was REALLY busy, we'd put a box of breading on the floor and make it there. we only had two breading stations, and theres two different types of breading. if you're getting hit with a bunch of orders for one youd put a box on the floor and bread it there. if youve ever worked fastfood you know how nasty kitchen floors are
