one of the issues is that the google play store was the only medium for downloading Gab. the ios app store denied Gab entry outright, so android phones were Gab's only market as a company.
Gab's idea of free speech goes against Google's "progressive" idea of free speech, and also rivaled other social media platforms. many twitter users fled twitter for Gab, if i'm remembering correctly. if Gab can prove that the difference in political ideologies influenced the app's deletion, then this lawsuit will go a bit further than an out-of-court settlement, i feel.
if they can prove that the app was deleted to remove Gab as competition as well? Gab could win.
