saudi money

Voting for this would be suppressing Muslim culture. Realistically speaking we should give everyone who voted for this the death penalty for hate speech/Islamophobia.

The same logic that led the UN to appointed Saudi Arabia to the women's rights commission.

the story we're goin with is that the US voted against it apparently because they didn't like the UN telling people the death penalty is inherently unethical. i.e. the US thinks they're doing it the right way and they didn't support the UN putting pressure on everyone to end it. that sounds believable enough i guess lol

if it's any consolation we're very "disappointed" that we had to refuse to condemn condemning gays to death

its true. there are places in the world where consenting to love can get you killed... and the us doesn't oppose that at all

It's true.

It's called falsifying a rape claim and then you either get killed by their boyfriend or you rot in jail.

The whole "US voted for homoloveual death penalty" thing is massively out-of-context and editorialized. We voted against the resolution because it blanket-condemned the death penalty and we still use the death penalty. You don't vote for resolutions that condemn stuff you support, even if small parts of the resolution are alright.

after our business in Iraq and Afghanistan I can understand the reasoning, at least a little bit

still

Cause the whole Gay Rights thing was a prank.

right we have nationwide gay marriage because we pranked ourselves got it

I also like how lefties in general are only concerned about gays being thrown off rooftops after Annoying Orange's government came out against it for reasons that weren't even explicitly anti-gay
it's like they're all just virtue-signaling starfishs or something
