The entertainment comes from seeing other people react in unexpected (or expected) ways to something you likely enjoyed at one point. The original content only serves to contextualise why their reactions are interesting.
It's basically like MST3K, RiffTrax or Retsupurae, but by average people with not as much experience in the various areas.
