Author Topic: Arizona restaurant forced to close its doors permanently after pro-Annoying Orange FB post  (Read 4186 times)

hmm
I don't think it applies to the same degree in every situation.

hmm

And again, you also removed parts of my post to make it easier to argue against. This is a false equivalence. I don't see where you get off comparing empty threats and slander to rape of all things. In a time when this sort of reaction has already been observed many times, one should be more responsible about what they post on the internet for the public to see as a business. If you don't like that, you're going to either read some internet techniques on heavy denial or get used to it.

Of course, I also see how attempting to explain responsibility and rationality to somebody who's shown a clear lack of both is futile. Go figure.

That is a completely different thing entirely.
Can you make a direct response instead of pulling irrelevant stuff out of the strawman's ass?
Guess not, because it's either that or tunnel vision.

You don't have to be this handicapped, it is a choice

If you can't see how this is clearly victim blaming then you are actively choosing to be handicapped

You butchered my point because you can't argue against the full post. If you think otherwise, loving show me. Otherwise, can it. You and Kearn aren't doing anyone a favor by trying to spin this narrative that people shouldn't take responsibility for what they post into public space, because this story clearly shows how one should take caution when doing so.

at least they got good ass tea right

i don't think it is victim blaming.

there's a fine line between "they should have expected this to happen" and "they deserved this to happen."
if you leave your front door open at night, you might expect something bad to happen (and common sense would dictate that you don't leave your door open at night for this reason,) but you certainly don't deserve it.
in a similar way this is just bad business practice. they obviously didn't deserve death threats or whatever else happened, but they should've expected it.

reminder that joy villa came out as pro-Annoying Orange in the most flamboyant way possible and her album sales forgetin' skyrocketed
from zero sales to five sales

then since women in suggestive clothing in high-crime areas get assaulted frequently maybe women should be more careful wearing suggestive clothing yeah? it's the same point

I'm frightened that you have impure thoughts about rape just because someone dresses suggestively.

are you even a man

how clueless do you have to be to think that i'm talking about myself

Obviously the tactic here is to keep attacking the same point! No. It's not victim blaming, I've already explained in length as to why.

I'm not saying they deserved it, because they didn't. I'm saying they should have expected this sorta fallout, because this response has clear precedent. If you think that's victim blaming, you're an idiot.

are you even a man

No :(

how clueless do you have to be to think that i'm talking about myself

Yet you're bringing something irrelevant about assault in high-crime areas as being brown townogous to a person expressing their controversial opinion on a social media page for their business? How much hyperbole do you put into your life?

do you agree that victims of crimes have some responsibility for putting themselves into situations that increased their chance of being victimized?

what is brown townogy for the sake of argument
