so i shouldnt log into my bank account then??
as long as it's got this little boy up at the top you're good

I'm actually wanting to root my phone and install a custom rom on it for this exact reason, but I'm scared of bricking my phone lmao
i think you'll be fine, i installed lineageos onto my galaxy tab s and it went pretty well. just read the instructions carefully and you shouldn't brick it.

not on public wifi, at home you're probably ok since i doubt people are just gonna drive around sniffing wifi networks for passwords n stuff
you should never, ever be doing banking or anything that requires a password on public wifi, that traffic is ALWAYS open to the public, this finding didn't change that. this is client sided, any device that uses wifi is effected. that being said, in slayerz case, most banking websites use https and probably have it properly configured, so he should be good

thats tru, idk what other situation he'd do banking outside of home tho

do you use wifi at places other than home regularly? if so it would be a good idea to change your habits a little bit to avoid potentially giving away sensitive data

i have unlimited data on my phone so i never use Wi-Fi so i guess I'm safe

probably not. although the researchers do release these scripts they create to the public, and i guarantee you someones already recreated this (or it already was created), made it better, and put it up for sale. anyone can run a script alongside wireshark to siphon your info, its really easy. the more advanced attacks that are possible because of this exploit you probably wont need to worry about though.

debian and ubuntu are patched, windows had apparently already patched this out in a security update last week. cisco devices are steadily coming out with patches

also here's a list of router developers that have released patches for this: https://www.windowscentral.com/vendors-who-have-patched-krack-wpa2-wi-fi-vulnerability
