i think it's cool, but in general i don't see how robots like this can make our lives better. feels like it's a richard competition between japan and the US in the robot market.

given enough time I think more practical uses for them will arise. lots of ubiquitous technologies began as nothing more than cool novelties.

yeah it seems like a lot of the research on this went towards making sure it can keep its balance, which would be pretty useful for bots.
