Author Topic: [NEWS] Yet again the FCC is threatening net neutrality (PETITION)  (Read 30582 times)

Not really how things would work without NN but I don't care enough about the issue to get into it.

$20 a month to use reddit as in it's in an extra bundle that costs $20

it would because competition

That's pure speculation. All we have to go on is how the internet was before NN was enacted. If you don't want to pay 20$ for reddit use a different isp or package. Or bootleg like people do with cable.

but also other countries which don't have net neutrality

and i'd wager that US ISPs are definitely going to be price-gouging with every chance they're given considering they do that already.

"use a different isp" isn't gonna work when the other isps are doing the same thing. "use a different package" won't work if you can't get reddit without the package. in this scenario, even the best option is going to be more than you pay already.

Have they said why they want to remove net neutrality? I'd actually love to see why.

IIRC Ajit Pai said something about the rules "Stifling investors from investing in Internet Service providers and inhibiting innovation" or some stuff like that

I'll have to do more digging though

Basically he said some vague bullstuff that still didnt even resemble the truth.

what becquerel said + he believes its discentivizing investment into better internet infrastructure and that removing it would increase competition >> drive down prices

given that there is likely always to be little competition due to the massive initial infrastructure cost youd need to start a new isp, all its going to do is enable isps to do package based stuff and let them drive up prices

I just wanna look at memes. Why is reddit doing this to me?

why not look at ajit pai/NN memes

So what are you guys gonna do if this passes. I'm guessing certain groups will go ballistic and dox/ddos certain internet providers

I certainly don't support it but that's what I'm guessing is going to happen

So what are you guys gonna do if this passes
Go buy a pitchfork and a torch

Go buy a pitchfork and a torch

Who knew autism was the FCCs secret weapon

someone needs to come up with a little flashgame where you can beat the stuff out of him

is this just affecting the USA at the moment
