My parents are watching the Golden Globes right now and I caught a glimpse of the opening monologue by Seth Meyers. They haven't learned anything from the Emmys, in which everything was political and because of that no one watched it. The whole bit Meyers did was joke after joke about white privilege and he even threw it to the crowd, who made the exact same type of jokes. He even threw it to Amy
Poehler who made a joke about mansplaining and followed it up with probably the worst pun I've ever heard.
I'm not gonna watch the rest of it but I wouldn't be surprised if they give out a bunch of diversity-hire awards and have a bunch of dumbass political monologues shooting at Annoying Orange. I believe they said that there are political activists in the audience and Meyers spent a long time praising Tom Hanks and crew for that WaPo movie.
Friendly reminder to Hollywood that the last Emmys were the least watched I think ever and that the movie industry is seeing their lowest numbers in several decades. I wonder why...
