im gonna use 10s, yes they are kinda thin for the tuning but atleast theyre not like 8s or somthing

if i can play drop d with 9s 10s should be good enough for drop c#

Reaper doesn't stop you from using it after 60 days. The only difference between paying for Reaper and using the trial is just having to wait out the little intro timer dialogue box (and legally being allowed to sell whatever you make on Reaper). Reaper is a fully working DAW in "trial".
