Author Topic: Youtube forgets over small content creators  (Read 4901 times)

people make threads about videos that come out on here all the time
Yeah, and like 99% of them aren't lets plays. Go figure.

oh yeah 5% of their audience that's so much better
A minimum of 5% for games that aren't popular nor fun to watch, and are still pretty fresh videos.
And then their most popular videos exceeding their subscriber count. One in particular is at 370%.
Now, you also have to remember that a lot of fake accounts subscribe to more popular channels (mostly to make themselves seem more like they are involved with the community). As well as many people who no longer frequent Youtube, or maybe just aren't interested in the channel anymore, but don't ever bother managing their subscriptions.

at 5 in the evening? not even that, 6 in the evening? over the weekends?
I never knew that (roughly) 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM on a Wednesday was 6 in the evening over a weekend. You might want to check your clock.

well that's the content that's being encouraged by yt so
And it's being watched. Imagine that. But thanks for ignoring the rest of that point.

I see a lot of people posting about the 10 cents they'd be losing on revenue but it's definitely a lot deeper than that.
If you're not making enough money, well, start a Patreon. That part doesn't change. People were already doing this.

The real issue is that no one's going to find you. If you're not a partner, they have no reason to promote you. Your content is never going to be recommended. And your video will likely show up lower on search results. Because chances are, they're more likely to show things that have been known to make them more money. Because remember, the ads are what makes Youtube itself the money.

So, going on from here? It looks like the small content creators need to rely on their own tools, promoting their own work across various sites. That's probably how people got big in the first place, anyway.

This. I have to say though, if you’re a small timer only getting into YouTube to make money, you’re loving dumb. Ad revenue is abysmal and if your only source of revenue is YT, you aren’t going to make it.
