They aren't necessary. Infact I don't even implore you to use them, just use them at your leisure. I'll often be seen swapping between .Bah and JawA myself.

An oopah is just simple OOPAH it's a sheep call used to heckle people. It is only to be used on victims that have been designated though (Furdle, Blockk Killer, HARRY BLOCKER and new clans with no hope).
