Question: How would you feel if Aliens came to earth right now?

what political ideology would aliens follow? like what would be their governmental system? this is a really boring sounding question but it always interested me. do you think the aliens that would invade be destroyer of worlds or some peacemakers trying to make some intergalatic space colony?

I assume if they've gotten far enough to have interstellar travel they've gotten far enough to figure out that death and destruction should not be the goal of meeting a new species.
What I don't assume is how people will treat them.
