Author Topic: I Need... A New Phone....  (Read 1894 times)

Hey guys I dropped my phone in the toilet today and broke it so I need to get a new one and with so many options on the market today I figured I'd ask the smartest group of people I know. Unfortunately, they didn't respond, so I'm asking you guys instead. I have Verizon if that matters and I refuse to get an iPhone so that's out of the question. It's important that the phone can withstand being dropped or thrown and all that other dumbass stuff I do constantly. Price isn't really an issue but it seems like a lot of the top phones seem to be very similar and I just wanted to know if y'all had any advice or experience with new smartphones

I'm getting the pixel 2 xl

let's be pixel 2 xl buddies

I've never really understood the appeal of the XL or + versions of phones. Do people not care if their phone is compact or not? I just always thought having a phone that couldn't fit in a pant pocket or jacket pocket would be kinda a hassle. I know that the specs are usually better but idk

galaxy s8

iphone x/8 is a mistake

i would get a motoz along with a good screen protector and maybe a case
the first motoz play is better and more durable than the second one from my experience so i would try to get one online since i don't think verizon stores have them anymore

Oneplus 5t
Razer phone thing is p good apperently
Moto g(highest number here)
Any samsung with an oled display

honor 8 or 7x.

great phone good price, me and mack have the same phones haha (honor 8)

let me say a few things about the phones in the poll:

google pixel 2 is terrible, sorry fanboys. i used to have a nexus 5 and that was a great LG phone, but when there's a terrible screen burn-in problem even on the DEMO phones that's forgeted. (i think it's the XL but the regular p2 is ok, no headphone port tho)

v30 is pretty dope tho, at least it uses amoled so you won't have that burn-in problem. moto phones are pretty dope as long as you don't do some crazy nerd stuff like i did with my moto x 2014.

oneplus is a mixed bag IMO, never tried it but great stock rom based on AOSP android. no frills, no bullstuff apps you can't uninstall.

honor 8 is great because it's a no frills flagship that feels like one, but only sub $300 bucks. with SD card support too, it's unbeatable.

I really like my one plus 5 I bet the 5t is better and a nice shade of red

buy a rotary phone and just wheel it around with you.
no power you say? that's preposterous, we have portable gas generators.

iPhone/Apple is stuff, yes; but the iPhone 6 is generally good and only needs battery replaces every couple years. Should be on the cheaper side and also will run everything great unless you’re trying to run fukkin computer games on it.

If someone doesn't want an iPhone, that doesn't mean recommend one anyway

I suggest getting a OnePlus 5t, along with a tempered glass screen protector, and some form of case. Great budget option with high-end features and stuff
