they literally trusted the same people who came up with the "sam hyde is the shooter" narrative

if that doesn't show how the media is willing to jump to conclusions then IDK what is

blade weapons
blunt weapons

Chris rock once said regarding the Vegas shooting "100 people being shot is normal, but if 100 people got stabbed to death, at least 97 of them deserve to die"

< big list of several weapons
< pulls out mega magnifying glass to nitpick one in particular.

And besides iirc all it took was a box cutter and some pepper spray for about 3000 people to die.

I thought it was the thermite that took down the WTC

Can anyone come up with a reason why we shouldn't have metal detector security points at entrances and exits to schools? Genuinely asking.

You'd get a million NIMBY parents who would bitch about it, for one thing

Meanwhile the actual news sites will edit their articles, whereas the non-MSM 'reliable' alternative news sites will be claiming he was a communist party member/deep state crCIA actor 9 months down the line.

See this is what I don't get. Sure, the media forgets up once in awhile, and you're totally justified to call them out on it. But literally what alternative news source delivers media that isn't three orders of magnitude worse in coverage?

That's not what I'm saying at all. Journalists relying on unreliable sources is a real, systemic issue. Especially with respect to recent events. I'd also argue that most of the time, the major falsities are quickly edited out in a couple of days afterwards, but that's still plenty of time for people to learn a false account of what happened. It's a problem, and I'm not disputing that.

But literally everyone relies on a news source to keep up with current events. The world is huge and word-of-mouth is slow and inaccurate. What this means is that there's heavy overlap between people who rag endlessly on the 'MSM' (a dogwhistle term for non-conspiracy sources), and people who read those 'fringe nutjobs'. Because even they read the news too.

Seventh shilling for his employers yet again. Pathetic.

don't think my employers are gonna be too happy about me saying that they've got a systemic issue with relying on unreliable sources in the hours following major shootings
