Author Topic: Port Forwarding is crap.  (Read 6575 times)

already have dude, its a fault in the router, i read about it on some other forums too

WHat router you got?

Every router has port forwarding...
Unless you are with Sky Broadband, in which case you're screwed.

Ive got a Belkin F5D8233-4 wireless N router, im not the only one having this problem apparently, and theres no known fix for it.

im sorry if this pisses anyone off but i didn't catch whats going on to your router, only that you can't port foward

try going to control panel>network connections>right click on your network and click properties. You should see a box with tabs general and advanced.
There's a box with a scroll thingie right under..scroll down to
Internet protocol [TCP/IP] (see pic at bottom)Click on it and click properties.
You'll get another box that says obtain ip adress automatically and Use the following ip adress.Well click on use the following ip adress and put your ip adress in.It should say it on somewhere on your router page.Like 192.168.2.something. Then click on subnet mask and it fills itself in.Default gateway should be on your router page too. Then below it says preferred dns server and alternate dns server.lol those should be on your router page too.It might say server 1 and server 2 or something else.Mine says dns1 and dns2.
Fill those in then press ok.(pic at bottom)Yes mine says obtain ip adress automatically but i dont know..it works that way for me now.I filled it out before.
And here http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Belkin/F5D8233-4/Enemy_Territory_-_Quake_Wars.htm it shows you where to go to portforward and stuff..Just saying i dont know if you need it.At the bottom it shows all these ports but fill in 28000 instead. :) I dont know if this will help but i tried

Sorry here's other pic:
