And the reason people will continue to use YouTube is because nothing better will ever come around.
I mean, there's potential there. YouTube constantly doing stuff people don't like. Room for expansion. But any time a new site rolls around it's just trying to be 'just like youtube' but with a different layout and less features. Look at Japan. They have nicovideo, a lot of them use that over YouTube, despite YouTube being available over there too. And why? Isn't Google this unstoppable superpower? Nah. They have features on their site that YouTube doesn't have. They have all sorts of different sections (that i have no idea how the forget to navigate because I don't know Japanese) and one of which includes stuff like 3d models. It's main purpose is to be a video sharing service like YouTube, but also allows sharing of other forms of media.
If any of these 'new YouTube's wanna actually compete, they need to bring something to the table. Something that'll make people go "Yeah, actually, I want to start using this service because it provides features that benefit my needs." instead of "YOUBOB SENSOR MY RITES REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE *posts a hundred links to vid.me*"
