what the forget I wanted to reply but I ended up seeing the previous posts and became lost

it is not a hole. a hole is a single circle punched into a 2d plane. donuts have holes. paper can have holes. you can make holes with your fingers. anything with consistent length- pipes, straws, toilet paper rolls- are not holes. those are tubes

tubes don't have holes either. they have openings
note that ones starfish is a hole due to its donut-like hole shape and ability to contort despite it leading into the tube known as the intestines

theres probably a certain length ratio at which a hole stops being a hole and starts being a tube instead

the human body is just a complex series of tubes

the world is nothing but tubes

it's a series of tubes!

A donut has only 1 hole, otherwise it would be an order 2 topological shape, not order 1.

y'all need to brush up on your topology lol

Legendary post

But I'm curious could straws be orifice sticks then?

Alright everyone. I have found incriminating evidence that a straw only has one hole. Take a look!

maybe if you're A NERD

to be honest its both a linguistic problem (whats a 'hole') and a mathematical problem

think of it this way: if you stick a pencil through an eraser, you're poking a hole in it---not two holes
if u shoot someone and the bullet goes through it's just one bullethole...not that i would know haha

hmm is dat why theres a huge hole through my chest ri-

topographically, it's the same as a donut or a mug

therefore it only has one

if u still think there are two holes in one straw then ur gay and dumb
