Sounds like it was the woman's fault. She was jaywalking and she stepped in front of the car too soon for even a human to react.
Doesn't mean she should have died, but there shouldn't be any public outcry against Uber. This should just show to Uber that they still have a lot of work to do, and they already knew that anyway.

Bro why are the hi beams so weak? It's like you can only see 5 feet in front of the car at all times.

prolly just had the low beams on since it's a lit residential area and the car "sees" with lidar and IR cameras so it doesn't need as much light as human eyes do. Plus the camera's low resolution makes things look darker than they really are.
