Author Topic: What steps do you take to hide your online identity?  (Read 3997 times)

What kinda invisible text stuff are you seeing? Is this some MNightShamalamadingdong The Happening type stuff where the trees are infecting your brain to think stuff appears where you don't actually see anything? Just aspergers? Tell me man.
qft

you certainly made it look like it
also for 2: you know that people cant only get your password from going to their sites or downloading stuff and whatnot, right?
dont edit your stuff after i post on it

Here are some ways they can get your password:
RAT
Forced Downloads
The classic "Your Compuer Infected. Put in password to fix !" scheme on those fake bluescreen sites
ENTER YOUR PASSWORD phishing sites
Convincing phishing sites
Putting in cookies that remember what you put in, then making them undeletable (zombie cookies)
Stealing hashes
Stealing sessions

Most of these require permission from your computer and need assistance from your browser or an idiot to work. Especially stealing sessions.

dont edit your stuff after i post on it
I was already editing it before I ever refreshed

I was already editing it before I ever refreshed
So you were setting up and not thinking before you posted? That's clear information and there's more text than the post, just post another. Most of the time edits are used for minor things and not patching up stuffty retort posts. It seems like you did refresh and just wanted to get back at me incase I ignored it.

No dumbass, I forgot to put stuff. I'm sure you can easily relate, but refuse to

No dumbass, I forgot to put stuff. I'm sure you can easily relate without acting like a tard
You're fighting back by insulting me twice in one post? Oh Boy!

How I post is this way:

Put in basic text and images
Preview
Format and refine
Preview before posting
Scrap post if I don't feel it's worthy
DON'T POST UNTIL I'M DONE

Which one of these do you do? The first one and nothing else? Think before you post is a rule.

Look, I'm not going to argue with you because you can't understand I was editing my post after I realized a mistake. The edit button is there for a reason.

Yes, it's there for a reason. Using it because you forgot 1/4th of your post isn't the reason (or wanted to get back at someone because you edited it and they did not look back). You posted so fast that I can't even tell if you put thought into that post.
Well done.

put one and two together. I already posted, and wanted to add something. You are basically going "HA DUR YoU cAnT EdIt 3/4 oF yOur PosT aFtEr sOmEoNe RePlIeS, sPiNeLeSs CuNt!"
not even gonna bother anymore

I've purged my Facebook but left it open just in case family wants to talk to me, and have tried to erase any connection between my account names and my real name. Of course I use adblock and 2 antivirus/malware services as well as alot of other things.

anyways, I dont use my picture on social media, I sometimes use my real name, but rarely. I always use different passwords, and usually just do a username. I do use ad block for just youtube and some sites, and usually use tracker blockers

The only things you need to hide your identity from are other people online. Hiding your identity from big corporations is virtually impossible without a VPN and even with it's really useless because big corporations have no reason to voluntarily collect your id (they're required to get agreement from consumer in EULA or in some form)

People who hold a grudge against you online are the largest threat to your personal life. They can easily ruin your reputation permanently simply by posting a connection between your real life identity and this forum (any employer that sees what you post here will instantly fire you / deny  your application.) on top of that malicious users can threaten your family and force them to change their identity just to avoid being associated with you or anything bad.

usually hiding any pictures of you / any name is the best measure, works 99% of the time.

part of me really doesn't give a forget on what's on the internet. like, my name is my name. that's how i identify myself over everything else. my ADDRESS though is more of a private thing.

i just deleted my facebook after 8 and a half years of usage. i personally stopped caring about the newsfeed facebook has since 2016, and now meme pages are trying to cash in by exploiting facebook video. seriously, those stupid 30 second videos with just 1 frame of meme content is just so those starfishs can pick up a few bucks off of white girl view counts.

i keep my instagram and twitter public for fun. i think the best part of those social networks is the idea of just putting something out there in a huge pool of strangers.

i've also been using firefox nightly because chrome hasn't changed one loving bit since it was released. yeah, they always change it up under the hood, but it literally looks the loving same since it's first release. plus better privacy features on firefox make it a huge advantage over google chrome.
