you own more discords than there are atoms in the universe already

How many do I own? I reuse them or delete old ones.

a community that is fun to be around and not toxic

computer building related

active as stuff (aka always some discussion no matter the time)

fair administration

this, but also they'll tolerate my stupidity

the ability to say the n word without repercussion

1. Either channels for keeping stuffposting contained, or just a rule against it. Because if I want to have a conversation, I don't want to have to sift through reposted memes to find what people are trying to say.
2. The better the organization, the more likely I am to stay. I like being able to mute exactly what I don't care about.
3. A reason for me to be there. Some are just developers I'm keeping an eye on. Some are small communities or circles of friends. One is BCC.

It doesn't have to be active. I have things I can do other than sit in a discord server all day. It's just something that keeps me connected and sits in the background.

so you prefer huge enterprised discords or very strict ones over smaller and more community-like discords

I like both.
I forgot to mention an exception to 1, is servers that just don't have stuffposters in them.
Hence the "small communities or circles of friends" part.

everyone wants to be the captain but nobody wants to be the sailor

nobody is going to want to be an active part in your discord unless you have good moderation and create a platform that can maintain itself. even when i made a discord, it ended up dying out because there was nothing going on in the discord.

that being said, no discord group is fun unless the voice chat is active every single day. that's why the clique is so epic

it needs a purpose that isn't just 'random people join and stuffpost'
..yeah good luck with that one
