Modem/Router port fowarding help

So I have this 2-in-one piece of stuff, a Cisco WebSTAR router+modem. My PC is wired via Ethernet to the modem. I can't access the modem's page to open ports. ipconfig dumps the following:

Code: [Select]

I can't connect to 192.168.0.1 even with a static IP. I reset the modem to factory settings and now I can't even connect to the WLAN with my phone. I looked everywhere. I can connect to the internet via ethernet but no response when trying to connect to the modem. And a tracert literally jumps directly to the DNS server

I'm stumped.

Do you have a vpn on?
also take your damn ip out of the second code box

No VPN and my IP isn't shown. IPs in Argentina usually begin with 190-195 and 200-205

oof, guess 172.217.162.14 is google's ip

Ok so I managed to get the WLAN working again but still can't access the modem itself to open ports
How I miss having a bridged modem

try connecting to 192.168.0.2, i had to do this at my michigan house after my ipconfig gave me the wrong gateway

So, you can't connect to 192.168.0.1 via http (connection refused or timed out?). But if you ping 192.168.0.1 you still get responses?

If that's the case then I would guess that the management interface on your router has been disabled. This usually means that some other type of interface was enabled in it's place, but it's hard to say what.

Timed out. If that were the case, would deconnecting the router from the coax, resetting it, setting the port config, and then connecting it to the coaxial again would solve this issue?

no your inability to access the router management interface is separate from the coaxial connection to the internet. 192.168.#.# is local ip, aka devices in your private LAN network

yes BUT if I reset it to factory settings, the block should be lifted and put back in place by the ISP when the coaxial connection is reestablished, along my line of thinking

yeah reset to factory settings should be fine. after reset the modem part may need configuring though

I'm going to try that when everyone's sleeping in case something bad happens (Murphy's law, you know?)

check your computers ip configuration/connection too i guess. may be on the computer side

I'd doubt it's the computer's side. I can access the net and other systems on the LAN but not the modem's config screen
