Previous idea is a no-go. It resets the config when I connect the coaxial.

Try use DMZ.
NOTE: DMZ Means DeMilitarized Zone.

a lot of routers cant do it, the only router i know of irl that can do it is my grandparents' router in tennessee
i hosted a minecraft server on it

I always had a bridged modem connected to my own router to avoid this stuff
