About to go out and get the starter kit, anyone have experience with this game?

It's way too stat heavy for my taste. Some classes are completely redundant and useless, while others are almost must-haves for a group to survive. You're probably better off with D&D 5e or a universal system like GURPS or Savage Worlds. (Gonna give Savage Worlds an extra recommendation here, it's just so good.)
