How do you feel about the whole conversation regarding ADHD?

It does exist, and stimulants like Ritalin, Adderall, Vyvanse, etc. are a valid option of treatment.
It does exist, but stimulants shouldn't be used/given to people, especially young children.
It may exist, but it's mis-/overdiagnosed.
Doubtful it exists, especially since it's questionable to give people medicine to alter their personality/attention span.
Does not exist, it's completely made-up/just an excuse for being lazy and unmotivated.

If ADHD is like mild autism (which it pretty much is)
I don't think this is accurate. Autism is diagnosed by missing developmental benchmarks and displaying social impairments. ADHD's criteria is way different.

being diagnosed with adhd is such a placebo. being around people with add/adhd is all fine until you have to be roommates with three of them. forget that

I had a friend that had adhd for about 6 years then I got tired of it and started hanging out with other people, he might have been semi autistic too

But now everything is about his victimhood (rolls eyes). He will now forever have this excuse as to why he doesn't have to succeed or try as hard as others.
yeah and the notion that he may be an outlier must be out of the realm of possibilities
im sure there are more people like him but you're using anecdotal evidence to say that adhd must be made up for everyone

I know ADHD is real and I most likely suffer from it since a few of my teachers and my step-grandparents, step-aunt all say I have the symptoms and act like it (my step-side of my family have a lot of people with adhd)

I don't know if the medication truly works or not, since I haven't had a full professional diagnosis nor taken the medication for it

The real question here is how many forumers here have ADHD?

I would say I have it but since I haven't had a professional diagnosis or mental checkup yet, I'm not going to spread it around as if I do

Hell I probably don't have it at all and instead have some mild form of autism or something, idk for sure lol

I wish I understood it more, because working around friends who have it is difficult

I had a "friend" with it and he was one of the worst people I've ever had the displeasure of meeting

So it's a stupid thing people made up so they could be stupid obviously

Definitely real. Is there any evidence to suggest otherwise?
