Quests that resolve themselves were more frustrating than cool tbh

I would loving hate it when I'm assigned to protect some dude and suddenly I get a notification about a minute after getting the damn quest that it was failed because the dude ran through an anomaly or got eaten by dogs.

not exactly, they tried to remove the whole system but remnants of it lingered in the code, so NPCs still sometimes went and did their own thing. sometimes they finished their quest before you meet them, and sometimes they died before you can meet them.
