I'm not assuming that he did it or not, but I have a feeling that a lot of these accusations against famous people happens very easily coming from people who don't like them or have some sort of personal conflict, just to ruin their carreer, it can happen. I mean think about it, there has a been a massive ammount of people who got accused by harrassment in the recent years.

Well, its less of a "what we want" to happen situation, and more of a "what will happen" situation. People won't standby and allow this to spread if innocent people are being witch hunted for being men who disagree with the movement, which is where this is leading to quickly.
