i typically organize my server list by playercount, highest to lowest. sometimes i dont and just look for something interesting.

I only join non-dedicated servers with 0 players.

i have a habit of first sorting by non-dedicated first idk why. probably because dedicated servers are more likely to have 0 players
sometimes i go with bricks or players though
i usually dont join really popular servers

It's not about finding the really popular ones. It's about putting all the 0 player ones at the bottom.
