Author Topic: why does everyone use php  (Read 2008 times)

literally everyone uses php

Code: [Select]
function sendScore()
{
httpGet('http://swololol.com/coinGameStat.php?score=' + score);
}

even swanlow

I'm sorry. We'll use Torquescript instead.

no implement http your http servers in asm

I actually think PHP is crap in terms of both performance and coding conventions.

But everyone seems to use it, so it's the industry standard.

How else would we create our personal home pages?

How else would we create our personal home pages?

flask, rails, express, something on golang

Ritualistic sacrifice?

PHP is one of the most supported languages on every platform and one of the most used languages ever

The ones you mentioned don't get enough popularity (except for maybe golang)
flask, rails, express, something on golang
Flask (python)
Rails (html/javascript/css/ruby)
Express (javascript?)
GoLang (assembly/c++)

I try to avoid it because of how messy it is, I think Java/Javascript is much better to run
I tried ASP.NET and they lack a lot of documents to make your own stuff so I decided to stop using it (and it's Windows only if I remember)

I think you missed it.

Flask sucks, RoR sucks (and both suck for performance sensitive operations!!),
Express is part of the node.js meme, and nobody uses GoLang— outside of Google.

There is simply no correct or valid solution to this. PHP is just one of the many languages that people use, and it’s pretty okay, seeing as the majority of websites still run a basic LAMP stack, as well as- you’re not going to get better HTTP server software like NGINX or Apache2 lol

why does everyone use PGP?

I have never even once checked someone's PGP-signed email header against their public key to verify the authenticity of the message

provable identities
as well as if you’re using pgp you’re also likely using keybase.io

I prefer to verify my emails authenticity using a protocol known as pinky-swearing

web programming is pretty stupid
