It depends on the tea you are drinking. Is it a chinese mix to calm you down? No sweets. Is it a cold green mint tea southern-style? Dunk some honey in that nectar of the gods.

If it's black tea I usually go for unsweetened. Green tea I usually need something sweet with it because the flavor is too strong by itself.

Hot black (oolong) tea always goes really well without sweeteners. Iced tea on the other hand tastes much better with a dash of sugar or honey.
