The draft is almost here! We encourage everyone to join us tomorrow on the server for the festivities. The server will open at 6:30 PM EDT to premier our brand new World Cup 2018 Build, and then at 8:00 PM EDT we will all convene on the beach for the first ever BCS Draft, where each captain will select their teams to fight over the coveted trophy.

For the players: while attendance isn’t necessary (you may be drafted whether you are on the server or not), we highly encourage everyone to be present. Not only will it be fun to hear your name called in real time, but you will also get to go up to the stage and be congratulated personally. We look forward to seeing everyone, players and spectators alike, on the server to celebrate!

holy crap this is legit awesome. All the work you guys obviously put into it, to the goddamn trading cards is amazing.

too bad i don't like soccer

Draft was pushed due to connection difficulties. New time will be tonight at 9:00 PM EDT.

props to the admin team for the june 31st draft. outstanding build and great organization

Draft went very well despite an early crash. We were able to get all 60+ players back on the server easily along with the 30+ watching the stream. If you want to watch or rewatch the VOD, here is a link: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/279926211 (thanks to Nobot for streaming, Kyro and quippy for commentating the event, and Ragref for additional help)

We will make a post soon and also edit the post directly under OP with the full list of teams!

We also want each team to be prepared for the cup, so teams will get a little bit of a period to practice this week. Games will be scheduled in the future after that.

Thanks again for such a successful draft everyone!

So when does the world cup start.

SCHEDULE

Happy to finally release this year's game schedule. The games will begin tomorrow and roll into next week. The playoffs will be scheduled after all of the stage 1 games are finished.

*This can also be found underneath OP on page 1

UPDATED FIELD RULES

Every year we strive to ensure the field rules are the best they can be. After listening to players' feedback over these previous weeks, we have decided to update three rules before the official games begin. These rules are listed below, the additions/revisions will be shown in red. If you have any questions relating to the rules in any way, feel free to ask me here or through Discord (WALDO#5137) and I would be glad to answer them.

Quote
Law 4.A:
At the kick off, both teams must be in their own half of the field. A ball will spawn in the center of the field. Two members of the team that is kicking off can stand inside the center circle; all other players must be outside. One of the two may hold the ball in place at the center and wait until the whistle is blown by the referee. Once a single whistle has been blown by the referee he will pass it to the second team mate. As soon as touch has been made, any of the players can then move around the pitch freely and play has begun. Attempting to score any goal during tip off (example: having your teammate head the ball in the direction of the other goal) before a clear possession has been made between 2 players in the center circle, will not be counted as a goal and a yellow card will be handed out to the offending player who attempted the illegal goal. A goal kick will then be given to the opposing team.

Law 5.B:
If none of the above takes place and the ball goes out of bounds on the goal ends then two things can happen. If the attacking team kicks it out of bounds the ball goes to the goalkeeper for a goal kick. If the defending team kicks it out of bounds, a corner kick is awarded to the attacking team. The ball is placed in the nearest corner arc from where the ball went out. All other players may place themselves freely on the pitch. The referee will then blow his whistle and the player taking the corner kick may take it. During a corner kick, any player may head the ball into the goal while being anywhere across the field, even while being inside the small box, but only before the ball has been caught.

Original Law 7.A:
Goal Kicks: During a goal kick, all opposing team players must be outside the big box until the ball completely leaves the box or if any fellow teammate who are inside the big box, touches the ball in any way. Fellow teammates may remain in the big box during any goal kick if they so choose to. If an opposing player blocks the ball while it is still traveling in the air within the big box, the goal kick is attempted again. If this occurs multiple times, the offending player receives a yellow card. Failure to get out of the box, or stealing the ball inside the box, will result in a yellow card. All opposing team players must remain outside of the big box during a goalie’s attempted “super-kick” whether they complete the kick or not. Goalies are not allowed to walk out of the big box during goal kicks. Goalies who delay a goal kick in any capacity will receive a warning, this includes “failed super-kicks”. Repeated delays will be handled with a yellow card and a corner kick for the other team will be issued out.

Revised Law 7.A:
Goal Kicks: During a goal kick, all opposing team players must be outside the big box until the ball completely leaves the box or if any fellow teammate who are inside the big box, touches the ball in any way. Fellow teammates may remain in the big box during any goal kick if they so choose to. If an opposing player blocks the ball while it is still traveling in the air within the big box, the goal kick is attempted again. If this occurs multiple times, the offending player receives a yellow card. Failure to get out of the box, or stealing the ball inside the box, will result in a yellow card. If a goalie loses control of the ball during a goal kick (e.g. a failed super kick or dropping the ball right after saving it), any opposing player may attempt to grab the loose ball and it is no longer considered as a goal kick (all players may then roam the big box if they so choose to). Goalies are not allowed to walk out of the big box during goal kicks. Goalies who delay a goal kick in any capacity will receive a warning. Repeated delays will be handled with a yellow card and a corner kick for the other team will be issued out.

Im rioting because of the server issues

Cool server. Amazing build. Somehow this server pushes my Blockland to use 5GB of Vram.
