Author Topic: I'm working on a short film, and could use input and possibly editing help.  (Read 866 times)

Title pretty much sums it up.

I am currently in the process of writing the script for a short film I'd like to create, and I could use input on the script. In addition, I may want editing help specifically with color correction once everything is shot and assembled. That would be fairly far in the future.

Here's everything to know about the film:
The entirety of the soundtrack for the film will be that of the song: Bogatyri - We Lost The Sea [ LINK ]
With that said, the whole film will be roughly 12 minutes including credits / opening title sequence.

The story of the film is pretty much as follows:
There are 4 kids, 3 of which have bad living conditions( ex: abusive parents, druggie parents, homeless ), but one of the kids is essentially a 'poser', of which is still friends with the 3 kids but is blatantly better off than them.
The kids come to the resolution that robbing a house for money is their best way to get away from their bad home lives / living conditions, so they prepare and rob a house.
Homeowner of the house shows up, chases the kids down.
Throughout the rest of the film, one kid is caught by the homeowner, one is shot and killed by the homeowner, one is shot in the leg and eventually goes down, and the last kid gets away from the homeowner safely. The kid that gets away is the poser kid that really didn't have a solid reason to rob the house.

Here is the script so far( it greatly helps to follow the script while the song is playing, and watch the song's timestamp because it all lines up with the script ): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OC6CJkool kids klubIz4woOsFbGdUvt8SUXmbpqK9d nUVgd_VXPA/edit?usp=sharing

For anybody curios of the production of the film; we intend on getting our hands on some RED or Blackmagic cameras, with sigma lenses. For lighting, I have access to 3 Bescor 330 lighting rigs, including gels / diffusion sheets.

With all of this said:
If you have any input or ideas for the script or overall film, please tell me! If you have experience with color correction, or just working on films in general, please tell me as well!

Thanks all, love u  :cookieMonster:

Still looking for input / help...

the last half looks pretty sparse. you might wanna spread out the events of the first half a bit more cus I'm not really sure how you're gonna fill the last six minutes of the song with just kids running away
also define kids? how old are they? how are the "kids" somehow all friends? why does the homeowner decide that his best option is to actually murder four children instead of scaring them off and calling the cops? that sort of thing
