Flurry Megathread

What's flurry?
The flurry is an ice cream shake from McDonald's. Examples of attributes include being cold and delicious, the ability to satisfy hunger, serve with two straws, and share. Flurry is also used to refer to snow and an enemy in Super Mario.

The flurry genre (sometimes referred to as a meta-genre) is based on the idea of consuming a cold treat, rather than any warm food. Any title in any form of media can be considered relative to the flurry genre simply by having a cool refreshing treat in it. Such references are most often seen in cartoons, comics, science fiction, allegorical novels, Gothic horror movies, commercials and video games.

Outside the fandom, the most common term used to describe such references is "Yummy" (a word derived from some 5 year old, idgag ). Those within the fandom prefer the term flurry - hence the name flurry fandom. Other terms for these types of characters are McFlurry, Milkshake, or Ow fuk dat kuldu in Japan, although each of these has subtle differences in meaning.
