Author Topic: [tinythread] [BIGtalk] How come big pharma doesn't just sell weed?  (Read 1061 times)

Weed is illegal because big pharma is heavily lobbying against it because they are threatened by it.

So why doesn't big pharma just sell weed then and make a fortune?

My guess is because weed has no negative side effects. The big selling point for big pharma is having to sell hundreds of different pills to counteract the side effects and counter those side effects and so on.

weed has negative side effects

weed has negative side effects

Negative side effects like rectal bleeding, death, liver failure, grey gums, bleeding gums, loss of eyesight, enhances addiction,  etc?

Oh wait no, that's loving pills.

I'd rather have that over

rectal bleeding
death
liver failure
grey gums
bleeding gums
loss of eyesight
enhanced addiction

These are also the side effects of a lot of prescription medicines, and are pretty easily mitigated by smoking at home, or in a comfortable place so you have no reason to get anxious. (or if you still feel uneasy for no reason, maybe cannabis simply is not for you.) dry mouth/hunger? glass of water and a bag of chips. tired? take a nap. I won't deny that some people develop unhealthy relationships with cannabis, but physically it is less taxing on the body than lots of legal medicines, which is what I think Tony is getting at here.

weed can be given in medicinal form but it definitely requires perscriptions

just because it has has positive effects doesnt mean negative effects dont matter
but i dont know much about weed in general so take this with a grain of salt

edibles im sure are fine or even the extract but smoking weed can definitely give you lung cancer. inhaling any kind of smoke or burnt matter literally coats your alveoli in carcinogens and blocks your airways

you guys realize hootaloo is playing games. he has posted multiple times his epic weed paraphernalia on the post real life pictures of yourself thread. epic smoker....... now we know..... he epic smoke

but...... but....... you are correct. a smoker can still argue why it shouldn't/isn't be legal. even if the smoker is a fool

Yeah I would agree this is a big problem with pot, but tobacco does essentially the same thing and it's legal. alcohol can be a destructive force on the liver too. I definitely don't mean to encourage anyone to use drugs or alcohol, but I do think our government needs to reconsider their approach to regulating these drugs

i personally think tobacco should require a perscription or be given to people in the form of raw nicotine in order to prevent lung cancer. you can still get gum disease but i mean its implied that it'd be regulated anyways

side question: if there is one illicit substance that a human should try atleast once in their lifetime, what should it be???

acid duh
