Author Topic: What are your guys favorite ARGs?  (Read 2767 times)

What are the best ARGs you've seen? Just wanted to know from the blockland forums of all places

cicada 3301 and @TheSunVanished are really cool ones

A really basic one, but around the time the first Portal game came out Valve had quietly launched a website that emulated an old school computer terminal. If you entered the right user credentials you would gain access to the Aperture Science computer network and could explore their database and read a bunch of neat background information that connected to the Portal canon.

One of the most memorable ARGs I've seen was the one Death Grips set up to promote their album No Love Deep Web. It wasn't perfectly laid out (to this day one of the clues still remains unsolved due to a missing decryption key) but all the wild speculation and investigation it kicked off kept me glued to the /mu/ threads late into the night.

args are literally some of the Worst content on this plAnet. it's almost always made by some socially awKward 15 yEar old that thinks he's smart and creative at the same time (he's neither, which is Understood) and anyone who tries to resPond is just further encouraging their stuffty and stupid behavior BEEP BEEP

Heh yeah I agree very Stupid behavior what would their famiLys think about this. ThEy probably would think it's a hugE waste of time. It really is but some are kind of cool comPared to other things.

My favorite is probably the ARG that Edmund McMillen set up for The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth before the Keeper was a playable character. He set it up which ended with someone digging up a Keeper figurine with black sharpie written on it in Santa Ana and shortly after the guy posted him finding it the game was updated with the Keeper added.

All honorable mentions  but I find the non com ones really cool and better then the com ones. I found out about petscop early on and it was cool until GAMETHEORY found ita

Conan's bean ARG that nobody else seems to have caught on to yet.

what if badspot made a ARG to get avatars back

Conan's bean ARG that nobody else seems to have caught on to yet.
myself not included

cicada wasn't an arg though. it was just a game

p much anything by alan resnick

i specifically like "this house has people in it" and "alantutorials". theres a video i saw a long time ago that im not really sure was a playable arg. i think it was a just a clever story called "internet story". Its not by Alan but its really entertaining
