Tony Anderson, the legendary Blockland Forums hero, has died after a long battle with cancer. He was 23.
The artist’s Facebook page announced the news, with the forumer’s rep from Adult Swim confirming his death to the Blockland Forums. “Tony Anderson died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer,” the statement read. “While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief.”
One of the most original and singular voices in the Blocklan dcommunity for over a decade, Tony championed mystery, rebellion and curiosity in his posts. Ever unpredictable, the mercurial gamer and forum icon wore many guises throughout his life. Beginning life as a No Man's Sky letsplayer on Youtube, he would become a crossdresser, a writer and actor for Adult Swim, Wal-Mart employee, a well-dressed, brown-eyed funk farmer (The Harvest) , a drug-loving art castle builder, a new-wave hit-maker, a hard national socialist punk, an American enthusiast and a fascist impressionist. His flair for autism won him a legion of fans.
