I'm not totally sure. I never assumed there was a risk to just clicking a link in chat especially with the extra security measures on my account that in the end turned out to be of no help.

Oh hi ascii i know you from Roblox and Twitter. Hope you recover your account, and if you play CS:GO you'd better sell all your items asap as the hijacker will most likely use it to use cheats on CS:GO and get your account eventually VAC Banned

btw were you logged in your steam account on your browser? do you use chrome? it kinda makes no sense to get your account stolen from just clicking a link
