Pirate ships (or any ships) of the time period were heavily laden with cargo and there was little deck space to be had. If there wasn't rigging there, there would be barrels and crates.

Your ship, a side from being to bowl-like, is seemingly barren and does not look lived in.

Needs some rigging too *cough*perhaps using my proposed rope tool add_on*cough*
