Hes stuck on a problem in his geometry homework.

(a^2)/A = (b^2)/B = (c^2)/C
a^2=b^2+c^2-2bcCOSA

Okay so, it's been a while, but...
You're gonna do this twice.
First
Angle A = 90
Angle B = ?
Angle C = ?

Side A = 16^2
Side B = ?
Side C = ?

You need to determine another side or another angle in the larger triangle to continue.

actually no theres three equations and three unknowns so its 100% possible

lets call the left side c, and the line in the middle a

using pythagorean theorem you have
c^2 + b^2 = 22^2
a^2 + 16^2 = b^2
a^2 + 6^2 = c^2

solve for a b c
remember stay in school kids

that said props to you matthew for remembering the sine/cosine identities. in this case though you are just using the cosine identity with the angle 90 (cos90 = 0) aka the pythagorean theorem.

wouldn’t it be easier just to do (16/b) = (b/22) and get b2 = 352 and sqrt both sides so you get b = 4sqrt(22)

damn it sadayo i didn't need help

It's just a bunch of triangles.
